Liberty Acres Animal Haven: A Sanctuary for Wildlife, Exotic Animals & Conservation
In the heart of Liberty, North Carolina, Liberty Acres Animal Haven & Equine Rescue is more than just a zoo, it’s a lifeline for rescued wildlife and exotic animals in need. Founded and run by Alison Peeler and her daughter, this 60-acre sanctuary provides a permanent home for animals that can no longer survive in the wild, offering them a second chance in a safe and loving environment.
A Wildlife Rescue with a Purpose
At its core, Liberty Acres isn’t just about exotic animal encounters, it’s about rescue, rehabilitation, conservation & education. Many of the animals at the sanctuary were injured, orphaned, or surrendered and could not be released back into their natural habitats.
Among their wildlife residents are:

Just like Squirrel Friends, Liberty Acres believes in protecting our natural environment and supporting the wildlife that plays a crucial role in our ecosystems. They provide a sanctuary to these animals, and they are helping maintain the balance of nature while also educating the public about the importance of conservation.
